How Athletes Unlimited works

The format, the points, and every abbreviation you'll see on this site — in plain English.

The basics

Individual champions, not team titles

Athletes Unlimited crowns one champion per season, and it's a player — not a club. Every athlete collects points all season, and whoever finishes on top wins the title.

Teams are redrawn every week

The four athletes with the most points become captains and draft new rosters each week, so the clubs you see on the standings page change as the season goes.

Points come from wins and from play

Athletes earn a big chunk of points when their team wins the game or the set, and the rest from what they personally do — hits, kills, digs, buckets, blocks and so on.

Standings are a snapshot

Club records on this site show how the current week's rosters are doing. The points race is the season-long story, and it lives on the points race page.
